Our History: Why It Matters
As a firm run by a family of lawyers, we believe we offer something different than you will find at an ordinary firm. This different way of practicing started with Mark Gruman, who is still the driving force behind how we operate. It continues with Jaimie Gruman and Jordan Gruman, who were raised around the law and who understand the importance of serving our clients loyally and fairly.
All three of our lawyers have had opportunities to practice at different and bigger firms. We have all chosen to practice together because of the trust we have in each other and in what our firm offers to our clients.

Mark W. Gruman

Mark has been practicing law in Calgary for more than 30 years. In that time, he has successfully represented clients in a vast array of matters in all areas of the legal system. Mark also took time from his busy practice to serve his community as a Justice of the Peace, presiding over bylaw enforcement, traffic, and other Court matters.
Presently, Mark has begun to oversee the general operation of the firm, with the majority of his practice focusing on real estate conveyancing, wills and estates, and some general litigation matters, while continuing to offer his support and broad ranging legal expertise to the rest of the firm.
Mark is an avid golfer and enjoys escaping the rigors of his busy practice in Canmore, Alberta, with his wife as well as spending time with his young grandchildren.
Jaimie K. Gruman

Jaimie is the second of the Gruman family to pursue a legal career after graduating with distinction from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law in 2006.
Jaimie maintains a general litigation practice with a focus on family and estate related litigation. With a degree in finance prior to attending law school, Jaimie has the education and experience to assist clients with more complex property divisions, including analyzing financial statements and business valuations, and more complex spousal and other support cases. Similar to her father and brother, while maintaining a busy litigation practice, Jaimie also continues to serve clients in real estate, drafting wills, probating estates, and negotiating disputes.
Just as Jaimie followed Mark into the legal realm, she has also followed his passion for golf. You will often find her participating in tournaments for various legal charities and initiatives. Jaimie also spends much of her free time with her husband and two young sons, where she and her family enjoy travelling to the mountains to ski, swim, and hike.

Jordan M. Gruman

Jordan joined the family firm following his graduation from the University of Calgary Faculty of Law and a year with a large regional law firm.
Jordan maintains a practice primarily focused on general litigation in numerous areas ranging from builder's liens, corporate and contract disputes, occupier's liability, professional negligence, and personal injury actions. As with all members of our firm, while maintaining a busy litigation practice, Jordan also continues to serve clients in real estate conveyancing, drafting wills, probating estates, and negotiating family, corporate, and lease disputes. He has successfully appeared at all levels of Alberta Courts, including the Provincial Court of Alberta, Court of Queen's Bench, and the Alberta Court of Appeal.
When not in the office, Jordan enjoys watching hockey and football, travelling, reading historical novels and biographies, and spending time with his wife and young children.
